You might remember that I’m a fan of the Blues. In fact, when I do manage to find the time to do some cooking, my go-to streaming radio station is a broadcast Blues station from Mississippi that generally has an excellent mix of classics and new stuff.
One of the songs I heard recently was Robert Johnson’s Cross Road Blues which includes the following verse:
Standin’ at the crossroad, baby, risin’ sun goin’ down
Standin’ at the crossroad, baby ee-ee, risin’ sun goin’ down
I believe to my soul, now, poor Bob is sinkin’ down
And that soul-sinking feeling might be somewhat familiar to you if you feel frustrated and unable to really deliver security architecture or risk assessments the way you know they should be done in your organization.
You might feel overwhelmed.
You might feel pulled in a bunch of different directions.
Or you might have been given a new mandate to completely restructure your team in 3 weeks before some arbitrary deadline like one of our clients has been recently.
I know what this feels like. It feels like you’re really not able to do much, and when you’re not really in control – or at least you don’t think you are – things can look pretty bleak indeed.
The reality, however, is often not quite as bleak as you would imagine. Because if you really think about the work you do every day, unless you have some pointy-haired boss standing over your shoulder every minute for 8+ hours a day shouting at you,
“No, I meant…Click Here!”
“Aw, man… what’s wrong with you? Didn’t you see where I told you to click?”
The fact is that you actually do have quite a bit more control over your activity – how you choose to spend your time – and your behavior – how you choose to respond to events – than you might imagine.
And with that control, you can change the way you think…
…you can change the models you draw…
…and you can change the overall effectiveness of the results you, as an individual, contribute to your overall security program—at any level, and in any role.
The question is, though…
Are you happy with the way your day looks right now?
What would you change if you could about the way you do your work?
If you have substantive answers to that last question, then – at least at the time I’m writing this email – there’s still two slots left in my calendar today to talk about getting you some focused coaching and training over the next 6 weeks as part of our Effective Security Bootcamp program.
It’s a program where we work together each week on whatever you’re doing to increase your productivity, enhance the way you think, increase the speed at which you deliver and possibly make a step-change in the overall quality of the work you do.
To do this, we meet for 30 minutes at the same time every week, then we exchange as many emails, documents, information or other focused training as required to make sure you hit your improvement targets for this year.
And, since it’s a 6-week program, you’ll be ready to take a well-deserved holiday break, and be better-equipped to start 2020 with a shiny new set of security skills.
If you’re ready to start this week, you’ll save $900 and pay only $2,497 if you pay all at once, or you can make two payments of $1,398 to make it easier to digest and fit into your budget.
However, while you can get in later at the regular price, the sun sho is goin’ down on this particular offer in just a few short hours.
To book one of the two remaining slots, use this link pretty-much right now so we can still talk today:
