A Business Driver is a strategy statement a given stakeholder is expected to implement in support of achieving a specific business objective. Business drivers are ordinarily developed as part of a formal or informal risk assessment of the given business objective and reflect the expected risk mitigation activities required to ensure the objective is delivered. It is very closely related to the concept of a control or enablement objective, but it differs in being derived from business objectives rather than from domain risk assessments of attributes.
